Good to know
We have collected some useful information that can help also in your preparation for the event.

"Menyecsketánc"
The "Menyecsketánc" is a traditional dance element mostly present in Hungarian weddings during the wedding party. The bride disappears for a short time (around midnight) in order to change from her wedding gown to a different dress, which can be a traditional costume or a modern evening dress, usually of red color (see the picture). This is meant to symbolize that from this point on she is a woman and not a girl anymore. When she arrives back to the celebration in this new dress the bridesman usually organizes the start of the dance with the bride. This is the point where everyone has the opportunity to give their financial gifts to the couple. As a way of saying thank you for the present, they can dance with the bride. The other guests usually form a circle around the bride, and provide the good mood while she is dancing with the others. Gradually, everyone will have a chance to dance with the bride. At the end comes the groom who has the "last" dance.
After this element the party goes on. . .

The wedding playlist
We know that not everybody is a big fan of traditional Hungarian wedding music. So at least in the scheduled breaks of the band we would like to give you the chance to hear also your favorites. By clicking on the picture on the right, please add them to our Wedding playlist. Thank you.
The bridesman is a traditional figure in Hungarian weddings. He is the "spokesman" of the groom. In the past his job was to guide the guests from one house to the other, reciting poems and good wishes (sometimes with improper or suggestive lyrics), and to tune the crowd to a "party" mood. Nowadays there are also more modern bridesmen besides the old-fashioned ones (see the picture). These adapted to the needs of couples who do not prefer all the traditional elements included in their wedding, but would still like to have someone who is responsible for coordinating all the actions in the foreground and background. They are also called the masters of ceremony.
In our case we decided to go with the more modern one, so it's a good hint to remember Kocúr László (see left in the picture) and listen to him as he has all the information and tricks up his sleeve to ensure a good flow of the party. In case of any questions during Our Big Day, please feel free to approach him. He speaks Hungarian, Slovak (understands Czech :)) and English, and will be able to find a solution to your request.

Flowers
We appreciate all the efforts and interest in donating wedding gifts and flowers. We know that some of you are travelling from a long distance, so we would like you to know that you do not need to bring large bouquets for the bride. On the other hand, if you do not know what to do with the surplus coins, they can wander into the envelope as entry fee for the „menyecsketánc“ :)
